We have the sun ‘squeeze’ every last drop of moisture out of our berries so you get the most berries for your money. *BUT* you may not like them so dry.  There’s a quick and easy way to make them softer and more chewy.

Spread ONE DAY’s * worth of your berries out on a plate and spray them with pure water.  This will make them soften right up.

Give ONE DAY’s * worth of your berries a quick “plunge” bath in pure water.  WAIT!  Don’t throw that nutritious water away!  Drink it, or use it for tea.  This bath will make the berries rehydrate and become crunchy, as they are now.

OPTIONAL:  Let the berries soak longer.   *BEWARE: Berries may grow mold or start to ferment if they soak more than one day.

    Hello Amber!
I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2014 and dropped from 267 pounds to 167 pounds in 1 year.
I now weight 185 pounds, 3 yrs later and I am extremely scared that I will keep on adding more weight and I never even reached my final targer which was 147 pounds. (I am 5’7).

Do you think that the Dukan diet would work on an individual like me who has lost so much weight in the past?
    Thank you!

      Hi Lucy

Your weight will continue to creep up unless you change your eating habits.

There is no reason why the Dukan should not work for you but I’d recommend discussing dietary changes with your doctor as it can be very difficult to achieve a balanced diet with a restricted stomach size.

      Best wishes

    Hello Amber,
I am in cruise phase… i’ve been almost 1 month and my weight loss rate is super slow now… i felt down and i broke the diet yesterday… what do i do?? do i just continue as normal in my cruise phase or what?? how can i get my weight loss rate faster again?

    thank you

    • Amber on February 23, 2016

      Hi Reham

Unfortunately there is no majic wand. The secret to losing weight is perseverance and getting back on your diet each time you slip. Punishing your self or looking to make up for lost time usually ends up with a broken diet.

what happens if i don’t exercise. also instead of walking can i run. and just one more i don’t like drinking plain water, if i just take all my cups of water and make tea does that count.

    • Amber on June 17, 2014

      Hi Isabella

Without the exercise your weight loss would be slower. Yes you can run instead and you can have tea instead of water. Green tea would be ideal.

Hi Amber, I am currently on day three of the attack phase and so far so good, looking forward to cruise!!! We are very limited in the fat free dairy options here and I wonder if this lite cream cheese will be allowed:
    Servings per package: 10
    Serving size: 25g
Average Quantity Per Serve % Daily Intake Per Serve* Average Quantity Per 100g

    Energy 137kJ 2% 548kJ
    Protein 2.8g 6% 11g
    Fat, total 1.2g 2% 4.7g
    – Saturated Less than 1g 1% 3.3g
    – Sugars 1.2g 1% 4.8g
    Sodium 68mg 3% 272mg
    Gluten NDmg NDmg

We also have a lite sour cream which I am thinking won’t be allowed but I’m going to ask:

I can only post the link for some reason…

Thanks, your website is a real help!!!!!

    • Amber on March 12, 2014

      Hi Liz

The lite cream cheese has 4.7% fat content so it isn’t suitable as a pure protein food but it can be used as one of your two daily tolerated items in the Cruise Phase. A serving equals 30 g.

The sour cream is not suitable at all as it has 12.1% fat content.

      Kind regards

Hi..i am interested in starting the diet. I only want to lose 10 to 15 pounds and I consistently work out 3 to 4 days a week for an hour each day. Is this going to be too much with the diet? Or will it increase the chances of boosting my weight loss? I can add the additional days of a 20 min walk to follow the plan.

    • Amber on February 7, 2014

      Hi Ashley

You may find this level of exercising too much on a low carb diet such as the Dukan Diet. You can adapt the diet to add a small portion of wholewheat pasta the evening before any vigorous exercise and you can drink a small amount of orange juice during and just following exercise.

If you are exercising you’d only need to walk on the days in between.

      Kind regards

I take thyroxine, valsartan & amlodipine – will I still be ok on Dukan diet

    • Amber on January 29, 2014

      Hi Paz

You need to check with your own doctor first but losing weight should help with the high blood pressure. Unfortunately an underactive thyroid can make it more difficult to lose weight.
