28 Vegetables Added in the Cruise Phase of the Dukan Diet

There are 28 permitted vegetables for PV (Protein and Vegetable) days in the Cruise Phase which you add to the list of 72 low fat, high protein foods from the Attack Phase.  When you look at the vegetables listed in more detail you will see that many of these 28 vegetables have a large number of varieties that will give you a much wider choice than you might have first thought.  You also have to remember that you can also eat goji berries which with the stewed rhubarb gives you limited access to fruit as well.

There are three vegetables on the list, carrots, beetroot, and artichokes which you need to be careful when eating as their high sugar content might impact on your weight loss so you need to restrict these to one serving per week each.

The 28 Permitted Vegetables are:

  1. Artichokes (Globe not Jerusalem)
  2. Asparagus
  3. Aubergine (aka Egg Plant)
  4. Beetroot
  5. Broccoli
  6. Cabbage  (Broccoli and Cabbage are both a member of the Cole family and this allows you to eat a very wide variety of vegetables such as cauliflower, purple sprouting broccoli, red cabbage, white cabbage, collard greens, kale and brussel sprouts.  The picture for this post is of a Romanesco Cauliflower)
  7. Carrots
  8. Celery and Celeriac
  9. Chicory
  10. Courgettes (aka Zucchini)
  11. Cucumber
  12. Fennel
  13. French Beans/String Beans/Runner Beans/Mangetout
  14. Leeks
  15. Mushrooms ( all varieties including White Button, Shiitake, Oyster and Portabella)
  16. Onions (Red, White, Salad or Spring)
  17. Palm Hearts
  18. Peppers
  19. Pumpkins, Squashes and Marrows
  20. Radishes
  21. Salad Leaves (Of any sort including all types of Lettuce, Rocket and Watercress)
  22. Sorrel
  23. Soya Beans
  24. Spinach
  25. Swede

Hi, I’m on the cruise phase for 5 weeks. I lost 5 lb. between 3 days of attack and the first 2 weeks of cruise and have not lost any weight since. I want to lose another 7 lb. what should I be doing different?
Also, are sugar snap peas allowed? what about olives? corn and baby corn?

    • Amber on November 26, 2017

      Hi Leah

The last few pounds are always the hardest. It really is just a case of perseverance.

Sorry but sugar snap peas, olives, corn and baby corn are not suitable. If you’ve been including these foods it could be the reason you are not losing weight.

    Hi amber
I’m at the 7th and end day of my attack phase. Everything goes well.
    2 Questions about next level(cruise) :
How should I cook vegetables in cruise ?
May I Eat fried vegs or not ?
And don’t u have any suggestion instead of Meat or Egg for protein source?
    Thanks alot

    • Amber on October 15, 2017

      Hi Saeed

Fried vegetables are not allowed. You can dry fry vegetables in non sitck frying pans. Other than that you can grill/broil, bake, boil, steam or eat raw.

All types of fish/sea food or tofu would also be suitable to eat.

      Kind regards

  • Joana on May 14, 2017

    Hello ,
I want to ask if I can eat Weetbix rather than oat bran, since both of them are high in fiber?!
Also, is chicken hot dog considered as PP with Dukan diet ! Or it follows another regulation !
    The same with chicken bacon
    Thank you

    • Amber on May 14, 2017

      Hi Joana

Weetabix isn’t allowed on the Dukan. If you don’t like or can’t find oat bran it is just left out.

Chicken hotdogs that have less than 10% fat are OK to include as a PP food but not too often. The same advice would apply to chicken bacon.

  • Lee on April 12, 2017

hello, is Psyllium husk ok instead of oat bran?

    • Amber on April 15, 2017

      Hi Lee

Psyllium husk is used by a lot of followers of the Dukan to add extra fibre to their diet, They eat this as well as their daily serving of oat bran. If you want to leave out oat bran but use the psyllium husks to combat constipation this is fine.

      Best wishes

You can make your own with cornflour and milk. Weight loss in the early stages of Cruise can be slow when you’ve had a good weight loss in Attack. Hang in there.
