Dukan Diet Attack Phase Menu – Days 6 and 7

Here are the final two days of the example Dukan Diet Phase Menus I’ve put together to give you some idea of what types of foods you can eat and meals you can prepare.  Over the whole seven days I’ve only used 4 egg yolks, as this is the weekly amount recommended for anyone suffering from raised cholesterol. If you don’t have any problems with cholesterol you can have up to one egg yolk per day.  I’ve used many more egg whites and unless you have a way of using up the egg yolks you might want to consider buying liquid egg whites.  Egg whites have been described as the perfect protein as they are both fat and cholesterol free and are also low in calories and carbs.  This is why liquid egg whites are used by top athletes and body builders as they get all of the positive benefits of eating protein without the usual downsides.

Day 6 Protein only (1 egg)

Breakfast

  • Fromage Frais with reduced fat, no sugar added, cocoa powder and sweetener

Snack

  • Thinly sliced beef with mustard

Lunch

Dinner

Day 7 Protein only (No whole egg)

Breakfast

Snack

  • Crab sticks

Lunch

  • Smoked Salmon
  • Cottage Cheese

Aloha. Curious I read how imitation crab stick is allowed although the ones I’ve found tend to have corn starch or wheat starch ( perhaps as a binder). Are these allowed?

    • Amber on October 7, 2017

      Hi Moni

Such contradictions are not uncommon in the Dukan Diet. Don’t worry about the ingredients just enjoy but don’t go overboard on the numbers eaten.

      Best wishes

    Hi Amber,

I saw the menu for the attack phase is for 7 days, so is that it for the whole phase or I should repeat it again?
    and also the others phases!
Also I want to know how much I expect to lose in each phase?
    thank you!

  • Del on February 25, 2015

Hi…I REALLY want to lose at least 30 pounds by this coming June..is that possible with this diet. Do I need to exercise too?? Also I cannot have pork for religious reasons. Additionally I just do not like cottage cheese or any seafood but canned tuna (barely) and talipia…so what can I do as substations and still lose weight or make this diet work for me. Thank you! Sorry for the novel…I’m just so ready to have a healthier happier lifestyle and feel great again. Is light yoplait yogurt okay for my yogurt intake or which band you prefer.

    • Amber on March 1, 2015

      Hi Del

30 pounds in around 3 months is a stretching target but it has been achieved by some. A lot will depend on how successful your Attack Phase is and exercise will be needed. Not having pork or the other foods you don’t like is fine, you just need to concentrate on eating as wide a variety of foods as you can from the other allowed foods. There are a few types of Yoplait yogurt so I can’t give a definite answer. The carbs in the yogurt need to be 7 g or less per 100 g.

      Good luck!

During Protein Diet Attack Phase. Can I eat porridge or bread? What is the recommended amount allowed. Thanks.

    • Amber on May 6, 2014

      Hi Jayne

You are limited to porridge made with your daily serving of oat bran and no bread is allowed until you reach Consolidation unless it is made from oat bran and other allowed ingredients.

      Kind regards

  • Sharmila on April 24, 2013

    Hi Amber,
THank you for this very informative site.

I have a question please, i can not seem to find (again) how long i should do the Cruise phase. is it 7 days for every kilo lost?
    Thank you,
    Sharmila

    • Amber on April 24, 2013

      Hi Sharmila

You stay on Cruise Phase until you have reached your target weight so there is no set time. As a rough rule of thumb you will lose around about a kilo a week but this is only a guide sometimes you may lose more, sometimes less.

      Kind regards

      Amber:)

  • Janese on February 26, 2013

  • Monica on December 27, 2012

I was wondering if it is ok to eat soy beans (edemame) during the attack phase?

  • Maria on October 17, 2011

    Dear Amber,

Since I live in a very small town I was not able to find Quark or Fromage Frais, can I use fat free cream cheese? Also can dijon mustard be replaced with brown mustard? And last can I use Equal Saccharin as a sweetner.

    Thanks,

    Maria

    • Amber on October 17, 2011

      Hi Maria

Fat free cream cheese is OK as is brown mustard (it has about 5 cals per tsp). The Dukan US site has an FAQ which advises that saccharin is also an acceptable sweetener so your Equal Saccharin is fine.

      Best wishes

      Amber:)

      • Maria on October 18, 2011

        Amber,

Thank you. I quit takes sweeteners years ago because the aspartame. Equal has this new sweetener and had very good reviews. I just need it something for the oat bran and other recipes you suggest it.

I never diet before so lets see what happens. I will keep you inform.

        Maria

    • Maria on October 18, 2011

      Amber,

I hate to be a pain. I have a question about the fat free jellies so far I was able to find raspberries and apricots. How many spoons a day? Let me know tablespoon or teaspoon. Can I add them to the oat bran bread, muffins, pancakes etc. I am in the attack phase righ now.

I used regular jellies when I made regular muffins and pancakes just to do something different. Food for thought!!!!!!!!!!

      Thanks,

      Maria

      • Amber on October 18, 2011

        Hi Maria

I’m sorry to have to disappoint you but the jellies that you can eat on the Dukan Diet are what are called jellos in the US. I’m afraid that US jellies which are also called jams in the UK aren’t allowed as they contain fruit.

  • Cliff on September 4, 2011

    Hi Amber,

In relation to your comments above (to Romana) – I’ve noticed several places on the site (and in the book – however, I’ve just started reading it) that states that sweetners are to be added to, for example, coffee and certain other foods, cookies etc.

I cut sugar out of my diet a long time ago and I’m curious to know whether it is a requirement of the diet to add sweetners to certain deserts and coffees etc. i.e. is it optional or advisable?

    Thanks for your help.

    • Amber on September 4, 2011

      Hi Cliff

Sweeteners are optional – if your palate has got used to eating food without added sugar you won’t need to use them.

      Kind regards

      Amber:)

  • Keri on August 14, 2011

Hi I just wanted to add if you can use artificial sweetners you can use Splenda and Stevia right? I know for the HGC diet they say no sugar and recommend Stevia, it is a natural sweetner, i buy the liquid kind and carry it in my purse so i can sweeten my teas easier (but you have to make sure you only use a couple drops at a time otherwise it will be too sweet!!)

    • Amber on August 14, 2011

      Hi Keri

Although my UK book only says that you can use aspartame, I’ve seen a reply on the online Dukan coaching which advises that you can use Splenda (sucralose) and Stevia, so your liquid sweetener is fine. Using sweetener is a bit hit and miss until you get used to them.

      Best wishes

      Amber:)

  • Romana on July 30, 2011

    Dear Amber,
Thank you very much for your website, it is really helpful.
I have a very important question. Instead of sweetener I was using an agave nectar, until I have read on your website that I should not. Do you think that If I have use it my diet has gone all bad?? Do you think that I should start all over again?

    regards
    Romana

    • Amber on July 30, 2011

      Hi Romana

Dr Dukan doesn’t allow any added sugar on his diet and agave does contain sugar ( and sugar means carbs!). However I know that there are some people who can’t or won’t use artificial sweeteners and that these people have successfully followed the Dukan Diet using products such as honey, agave or even sugar. If you are happy to use sweeteners use them but if not you need to make sure that you keep the level of sugar added to your food to the bare minimum as it will impact on the amount of weight that you are able to lose.

How much using agave has impacted on your diet will of course depend upon how much you used but I don’t think that you should start all over again. The Attack Phase is very restrictive because of the limited foods that you can eat so it is not good for you to follow such a restrictive diet for too many days in a row.

      Kind regards

      Amber:)
