Dukan Diet Attack Phase Recipe: Miso Soup

Here is a simple recipe for Miso Soup that can be enjoyed on any day of the Dukan Diet.

Miso soup is light and brothy with a soothing mild flavor and it is a staple of Japanese cuisine that has now found its way into many countries across the globe.

The ingredients used mean that miso soup is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. In the Attack Phase and on PP days in the Cruise Phase you just need to take out the seaweed from your serving. You can either save your seaweed to eat on PV days or put it in the other servings.

Miso Soup

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 cups of water
  • 1/3 cup of miso
  • 3 finely sliced scallions/spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of shredded nori or wakame seaweed
  • 1/2 block of firm silken tofu, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • soy sauce

  1. Make your stock (dashi) by simmering the water with the seaweed for 5 to 6 minutes.  If you find the taste too strong, simmering for longer will reduce the salty fishy flavor.
  2. Reduce heat to very low and add the remaining ingredients.
  3. Stir until the miso has fully dissolved and serve.

Hi Amber? I have a question about sea weed which is it is on the list of 100 foods on attack phase if I remember it right. And question is can use dried sea weed on attack phase?

      Hi Kana

Yes you can use sea weed as a vegetable in the Cruise phase but it is not permitted in the Attack Phase.

      Kind regards

Hi Amber–I’m puzzling over Miso being OK on the Dukan diet. Every package or box of Miso that I find here in Spain has lots of other things in it, like potato or rice flour, etc. Is that acceptable for Cruise days? Thanks again!

      Hi Elyn

A lot of miso is made with added barley or rice, try to find a paste that has more soybeans than rice or barley like this one https://www.amazon.com/AKA-Miso-Red-Soybean-Paste/dp/B0000WKUBC It is now very very hard to get a miso paste with just soybeans. With the added seaweed it should be eaten on PV days.

      Best wishes

Can I use costco dried seaweed?

    • Amber on July 26, 2015

      HI Olga

Do you mean Kirkland Signature Roasted Seasoned Seaweed- if so the answer is no as it contains a high percentage of fat.

      Kind regards
