Dukan Diet Recipes – Dukan Oat Bran Toast

This post has the very simple recipe for Dukan Oat Bran Toast at the end. I can’t pretend that it tastes anything close to toast made with bread but it does give you some additional ways to enjoy your protein.  In the Attack Phase you are very limited to the amount of toast that you can have as you are only permitted 1 1/2 tablespoons of oat bran each day but if you don’t have a sweet tooth like me this might be just what you were looking for.

To give you some ideas on how you can use your Dukan toast I’ve listed some suggestions below:

  • Steak Sandwich.
  • Beef Burger.
  • Chicken or Turkey Burger.
  • Beef, Ham or Chicken Sandwich.
  • Dry fried or poached egg on toast.
  • Boiled egg with toast soldiers.
  • Omelette on toast with finely cubed ham on top.

Don’t forget that you can use mustard in your burger or sandwich and when you move into the Cruise Phase on protein and vegetable (PV) days you can also add salad and tomatoes or a little tomato sauce with a little sweetener added.

Dukan Oat Bran Toast

  • 3 tablespoons of oat bran
  • 2 tablespoons of zero fat yogurt
  • 1 egg or 2 egg whites

  1. Beat the egg or egg whites in a bowl to get a little air into the mix.
  2. Add the yogurt and oat bran and stir well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan. Spray on a squirt of oil in the pan and place four round egg rings in the pan.
  4. Divide the mixture between the four egg rings and level.
  5. When first side is cooked remove from the egg rings and cook the other side.
  6. Flatten each piece of toast by applying light pressure for a count of ten.
  7. Grill on both sides until brown and enjoy hot or cold.

I like using the round egg rings as this makes the toast perfect for burgers.  It is also the right shape for poached eggs or dry fried eggs especially if cooked in the same size egg ring but you can get lots of different shapes including square if you want your toast bread shaped.

I am considering starting this program, Thank you. .however I am a huge fan of using Flaxseed oil and sesame seeds Question are they allowed if so, total amount per serving?

    • Amber on August 5, 2017

      Hi Marcia

Neither foods are permitted foods. Sesame seeds can be eaten in small quantities as a tolerated food in the Cruise phase. THe only oil detailed by Dr Dukan is either olive or rapeseed oil.

I was on dukan diet program in 2015 till 2016 and I managed to get to my ideal weight. but when I come to stabilization phase I was on holidays overseas ,came back slowly regain back 5kg till today. Now even I go back to stabilization stage my weight still get to my ideal again. Pls advice how to get back again to my ideal weight.

    • Amber on May 13, 2017

      Hi Soso

Do a 3 day Attack and follow Cruise until you are back at your ideal weight. Put in a 6 to 8 week period of Consolidation and then move back to Stabilisation but remember that you must do one day of PP each and every week and eat your daily sertving of oat bran to counter excesses and help keep your weight stable.

      Kind regards

I wanted to know, can i do the Dukan diet while breastfeeding?

    Thank you.

    • Amber on December 11, 2016

      Hi Pheobe

I wouldn’t recommend any dietary restrictions while breastfeeding. It is important that your breast milk is of the best quality for your baby containing all of the necessary vitamins and minerals.

      Best wishes

    Hi there,

I started attack Phase. My struggle is dinner. I bought those Japness Noodles Zero calorie and I just hate the texture. Any ideas? Do you use fat free or low fat items? I only need to loose 2 more kilos..

    Thank you,

    • Amber on February 10, 2016

      Hi Coco

You can use ribboned vegetables such as courgette/zucchini or carrot as a pasta substitute and cauliflower is another good substitute for mashed potato or rice. It can even be used as a pizza base Fat free and low fat foods have to be looked at very careful as they can be high in other areas, carbohydrates in particular.

Stick in there to the end
