Meat Recipes for the Dukan Diet

The staple meat of the weight loss phases of the Dukan diet is of course beef with a little bit of lean ham thrown in for good measure unless perhaps you live in a country where goat or mutton is the primary source of meat.

In the first two phases you do need to carefully chose the meat you are eating to make sure it is low in fat but once you reach target weight you do have a little more flexibility and can add in some lean lamb and pork.

The beef recipes can be adapted to use goat meat in the weight loss phases or to use lamb or pork in Consolidation.

  • Dukan Beef Tataki – A recipe for the Japanese dish.  The carrots and radish make it a dish for PV days, leave these out and it can be enjoyed on PP days too.
  • Oriental Style Braised Beef – A PP recipe for the Cruise Phase due to the tolerated items it contains.
  • Beef Kebabs is a recipe which you can adapt to make suitable throughout the Dukan Diet.  In the Attack Phase and on Pure Protein days in Cruise you just use a small amount of onion.  On days when you can eat vegetables you can add peppers, tomatoes or whatever you chose.
  • Ham Crispies – a great bacon substitute and good for a snack too!
  • Steak Au Poivre Dukan Style  – you can eat this on any day but my advice is to save it for a day when you can enjoy it with vegetables or a salad.
  • Easy Chili Beef – a PV recipe.
  • Dukan “No Spaghetti” Bolognese – this recipe has vegetables so is only suitable for PV days in Cruise.

    Hi Amber!

Is pre-cooked turkey bacon allowed in attack phase?

    • Amber on November 4, 2017

      Hi Chris

Yes you can have this low fat “bacon”.

Hi Amber, Thank you so much for this site and your info! I can’t find much info on the actual dukan diet website!

I am in week 2 of the Cruise Phase. Do you know how many eggs I can eat per day? Also, is there a limit on dairy? I love cottage cheese and yogurt and not sure if I’m having too much on both PP or PV days.

    • Amber on April 18, 2017

      Hi Tonia

How many eggs you can eat depend on whether you need to limit your intake for high cholesterol. If they are no medical problems you could eat 2/3 eggs everyday without any problems. With dairy it is best to stick to under 1kg per day. For this purpose 1ml = 1 g.

      Best wishes

I assume taking probiotics in capsules are okay during any phase? Those keep my stomach regular.

    • Amber on February 18, 2016

      Hi Pirkko

Probiotics in capsule format will be fine.

      Kind regards

Is seaweed snacks allowed during cruise?

    • Amber on August 6, 2015

      Hi Kathryn

Seaweed snacks usually contain added oil so they wouldn’t be allowed.

      Kind regards

    Hi Amber,
This is a great website and resource for a beginner on this diet. I just started cruise phase and wanted to see if sugar snap peas are allowed? It’s not on the list of foods, but is a veg.

    • Amber on August 6, 2015

      Hi Kathryn

You can have Mangetout but not Sugar Snap Peas. Peas are not permitted and in Mange Tout the peas haven’t developed unlike Sugar Snap peas.

      Good luck

Thank you for this great website.
Can I cook a good old T-Bone of the bbq, granted I take off the far around the steak?
    Many thanks!

    • Amber on July 26, 2015

      HI Frederic

Even if you remove the fat the T-bone meat still contains higher levels of fat than are acceptable.

  • Al on July 16, 2015

    Beef sirloin, is this ok?

    • Amber on July 26, 2015

      Hi Al

Sirloin is allowed but all visible fat has to be removed.

      Best wishes

Hi, just curious if bratwurst are allowed, i’m in germany and just love them, but not sure if they are approved or not, maybe in moderation?

  • mavis on September 5, 2014

i am losing weight faster but i am not losing belly fat what do you suggest

    • Amber on September 5, 2014

      Hi Mavis

Your body chooses where to burn (or deposit) fat just stick with it and this area will lose fat.

      Kind regards

Is turkey bacon acceptable during the attack phase one? Also, what about American brats, are they allowed during the attack phase?

    • Amber on August 2, 2014

      Hi Bridget

The turkey bacon should be fine but I don’t know what American brats are?

      Kind regards

  • Nan on April 7, 2014

What is the difference between attack days and PP days?

    • Amber on April 8, 2014

      Hi Nan

There isn’t a huge difference. PP days are in the Cruise phase and because of this you have 1/2 tablespoon more of oat bran each day and you are also allowed two tolerated items per day, other than that both days just have you eating from the list of allowed proteins.

      Hope this helps!

  • Quick Weight Loss on October 16, 2012

The Attack Phase is such a great motivator. The quick weight loss in the first few days is truly encouraging.

  • Obesity Crisis on October 16, 2012

The advice provided by Dr Dukan within his diet plan to restrict the consumption of fruit and to avoid processed food and all forms of added sugar is excellent advice.

  • Jinx McAllister on June 12, 2012

What does PP and PV mean?

    • Amber on June 12, 2012

      Hi Jinx

These are the two different days in the Cruise Phase which is the second weight loss phase of the Dukan Diet. PP equals pure protein which is the protein only days and PV equals protein and vegetable days when you eat protein and vegetables!

      Best wishes
