Dukan Diet Attack Phase – Recipes and Tips #5

My #5 Dukan Diet tip is to “Plan when to Start”.  The Attack Phase is a very intensive part of the Dukan Diet and it is important that you don’t under estimate the pressure that eating only protein for between two and ten days will create. I would recommend that you avoid starting the Attack Phase during a particularly stressful period of your life. For example, it is really not a good idea to start your diet just two days before you have to make a big presentation at work or have an important interview or examination to take. It might also be better to avoid days when you know you might be a little low such as your Mother’s birthday if she has recently died or your wedding anniversary if you’ve just got divorced. You also need to allow your body time to fully recover from any illness before embarking on any diet.

It is just a question of sitting down and working out when the best time to start the Attack Phase is for you and if possible consider taking a few days off work to pamper yourself during this phase. Delaying the start of your diet by a week of two if it means the difference between having a highly successful kick start to your diet or an unsteady start is worth it. You can use this extra time to get yourself prepared for the Dukan Diet and practise some of the new recipes and ways of cooking that you will be using.

My #5 Dukan Diet recipe is Beef Kebabs. I chose this recipe to show you another way in which you can prepare and serve meat whilst on the Dukan Diet. As well as being able to cook kebabs under the grill you can also barbecue them and kebabs also look very attractive on the plate making them ideal for entertaining. It is important for you to fit the Dukan Diet way of eating into your lifestyle.

Beef Kebabs

Ingredients (for two servings)

  • 14oz Beef fillet
  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Dash of vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice.
  • A little thyme and 1 bay leaf

  1. Cut the meat into largish cubes.
  2. Mix all the other ingredients togetherin a large bowl.
  3. Place the meat in the marinade, cover with cling film and place in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours.
  4. Discard the marinade.
  5. Assemble your kebabs and grill until the meat is cooked to your own preference.

In the Attack Phase you can add slices of onion to the kebabs whilst cooking to help flavor the meat but you discard them before eating

Useful information:  Don’t forget to soak your wooden skewers in water before using to help stop them burning.
