    Hi Amber
First of all your website is a really great source of info, thanks!
I recently found a protein cheese by eatlean. It has 169kcal, 3g fat and <0.5g carbs per 100g….what do you think, is this acceptable?
    Thanks, Lucy x

    • Amber on June 16, 2017

      Hi Lucy

This one is just 1 g of fat per 100 g over what would be allowed. Whether you feel it can be accommodated in your Dukan is a choice that you would need to make.

      Best wishes

    Hi,
I am on my 4 th day of attack phase but the recommended days were 3 , I want to go atleast 5 days on attack I have lost 5 kgs already, being an Indian vegetarian is hard for me to stick to pp diet , can I eat lentils 100 gm as mentioned by you on pp and PV days and if brown rice fits in dukan phases ? And is oil allowed in PV days as Indian curries have lot of oil and finally , can I have chapattis / rotis on PV days ?

    • Amber on June 11, 2017

      Hi Sumanth

The Dukan Diet is very restrictive in the foods you can eat. Lentils are fine but not brown rice or any type of rice until you have reached your target weight, oil is allowed but only 1teaspoon per day and chapatis/roti are like rices and are not allowed until you reach your target weight.

      Kind regards

      Amber:)

I have been on consolidation for 5 days now and have “gained” 3 pounds ! why is this happening ?

    • Amber on May 15, 2017

      Hi Pam

This is most likely water gain. Just ride out the next few days and hopefully all will be well.

      Best wishes

How can we use Fat Free Cream Cheese when there is sugar added to it ??(which is not in the full fat version)

    • Amber on April 22, 2017

      Hi Pam

You would need to check the carb level. If the added sugar didn’t take the total percentage carbs over 7% you could include it. Take Kraft Fat Free Philadelphia as an example. a 33 g serving has 3 g of carbs so has 9% carbs so isn’t allowed.Quark or fromage frais would be a better alternative.

      Thanks

      Amber:)

  • Lauren on April 18, 2017

    Hi amber

Can you clarify about the dairy product allowed during attack phase please? (Does that mean natural yoghurt, skim milk and just some low fat cheeses?)

I really like cheese but see it gets introduced later in the diet.

    Thanks, Lauren

    • Amber on April 22, 2017

      Hi Lauren

Quark, Fromage Frais and Cottage Cheese are types of soft white cheese that are allowed provided they are fat free or not more than 2% fat.

In Cruise you can have a small portion of hard cheese with up to 7% fat content as one of your tolerated items otherwise you would have to wait until Consolidation.

In some countries many other cheeses are available as fat free and although not official Dukan Foods they are used by many followers.

    Hi Amber,

May I eat smoked herring in the attack phase? If so, is there a restriction on quantity? Many thanks for your wonderful support.

    • Amber on April 15, 2017

      Hi Mo

Yes you can eat smoked herring without any limit but if you ate large amounts it might slow your weight loss due to the oil. So try to stick to 2/3 servings per week.

      Best wishes

Hi Amber–I’m 2 weeks into the Cruise phase and losing weight slowly–maybe 1.5 lbs/week. But I’m losing, which I hadn’t on other diets in the past! My question is: I am invited to a Passover dinner next Monday, which will include “ceremonial” foods like chopped apples and nuts, and high fat and high carb dishes. I do not want to stop my weight-loss process, so I don’t plan to indulge but out of politeness I probably need to eat some of these things. According to the Dukan Diet protocol, is that likely to STOP my weight loss progress? If so, how do I get back on the weight-loss wagon? Thanks–eagerly awaiting your reply–Elyn

    • Amber on April 8, 2017

      Hi Elyn

In these situations go for damage limitation and then just carry on as if nothing had happened. Eat as little as you can of the high fat, high carb foods.

      Best wishes

    Hi Amber

I am on week 2 and in the cruise phase. I lost 6.4 lbs in the attack phase and gained 1.5 as soon as I started the cruise phase. So far I have only lost .2 of the gained weight. Is this normal? I keep wondering if the weight loss will kick back in. I have 50 lbs to lose. I am so frustrated.

    • Amber on March 23, 2017

      Hi Kathy

Look at your weight loss since you started rahther than a week at a time. You are already 10% of the way to your target Keep believing in the Dukan.

Hi Amber–new question. I’m trying to find an acceptable low-fat cocoa for the Cruise phase. The one I bought is organic Rapunzel cacao: low fat cocoa powder, 11% cocoa butter. 100 gr., 333 kcal; fats, 11g; carbs, 15g; sugar, 0.3g; fiber, 35g; proteins, 28g. A single teaspoon is 2grams (I weighted it), but I can’t figure out if this is too high in fat/carbs. I tried to compare it to what Dr Dukan’s Online Shop offers but I can’t figure it out. Help!
BTW–I’ve lost 4 lbs in 5 days in the Attack phase–I am so excited. I haven’t been able to lose weight in several years.
    Thanks for your help.

    • Amber on March 16, 2017

Hi if a teaspoon is 2g this would have a little under 7 calories so this will be fine:)

      Thanks

Thank you SO much for this site! I’m about to start the diet and have a few questions, and I didn’t find answers when I looked in the posts…. First, can I continue to use psyllium husk powder to keep my bowels moving? Second, I think cider vinegar is allowed–is it recommended on a daily basis, and if so, how much? Third, can I use no-fat sheep’s milk yogurt, not cow’s milk Greek, that has under 7 grm carb/100 grm? Thank you so much! I await your replies with great eagerness and hope.

    • Amber on March 10, 2017

      Hi Elyn

It is a yes for the psyllium husks but be careful you are not having it as part of a sugary drink. Apple cider vinegar is also ok but Sheeps milk is too high in fat to be suitable.

      Best wishes

      Amber:)

      • Elyn Aviva on March 11, 2017

Thanks for your quick response–I take the psyllium in water, no sugar. You are SUCH a resource!
Please, can you confirm about the sheep’s milk yogurt? The label reads per 100 g, Cal, 36; fat, 0.1g; carbs, 2.6g; proteins, 6.1g; salt, 0.1g. Isn’t that within the numbers you posted for acceptable yogurts? BTW, I live in Spain (Girona, Catalonia) and so far can’t find any organic no-fat Greek yogurt, so I was hoping the no-fat sheep’s yogurt would work. I eagerly await your reply.

        • Amber on March 12, 2017

          Hi Elyn

The nutritional information I found for sheep’s milk showed it to be very high in fat but this looks fine.

          Best wishes

          Amber:)

          • Elyn Aviva on March 14, 2017

I’ve been scanning labels–some no-fat sheep cheese is high in fat–but this particular brand isn’t. Thanks again for”being here” as I begin this project!

  • Dara on January 29, 2017

    Hi Amber-
I have restarted Dukan after gaining back 20 pounds and I can’t seem to lose! I did a 7 day attack phase and lost only 2 pounds. During 2 weeks of Cruise, I have neither lost or gained. I am feeling frustrated. The first time on Dukan, the weight just melted away.
    Any advice?
I have a very active job-ususally get 5,000-10,000 steps a day just from working. Should I add more exercise?
    Thanks

    • Amber on January 29, 2017

      Hi Dara

Your body is likely to be in a very different place than when you did Dukan the first time. If you strictly follow the Dukan and increase your level of exercise you should find that the weight loss follows.

      Kind regards

      Amber:)

      • Dara on January 29, 2017

Do you think I should start over? Do a few Attack days, then Cruise? Or, should I just stick with PP/PV and increase my exercise?
        Thanks again,
        Dara

        • Amber on January 30, 2017

          Hi Dara

Stick with it and up the exercising. Dr Dukan very strongly advises against re-doing the Attack phase.

          Kind regards

          Amber:)

  • Liz on January 24, 2017

Hi. Are you still running this site? Are you also still doing dukan? Thanks!!

    • Amber on January 24, 2017

      Hi Liz

Due to personal reasons I was unable to spend the time needed to answer questions for a while. Things are now back to normal again.

I use Dukan to maintain my weight and almost every day enjoy oat bran porridge for breakfast.

      Best wishes

      Amber:)
